Do you have a question?

General

How long is the delivery time?

The delivery time for products from the Nilson collection is 8 weeks. Some items have a shorter delivery time.

What is the difference between Medium, Firm and Extra Firm?

Mattress firmness is determined by the springs used in the mattresses. The firmness of the springs is determined by the thickness of the springs. The best mattress to choose depends on your weight, height and personal preference. As a guideline, we use the following categories: up to 75 kg: Medium, from 70 - 90 kg Firm, above 90 kg Extra Firm.

What is the service life of a bed?

How long a bed lasts depends on the materials used in the bed. In general, a bed built from sustainable (natural) materials will last longer than a bed built from modern materials. A Nilson bed with natural materials normally lasts around 25 years.

Which products can be made to measure?

All products from the Nilson collection can be made to measure. You are also welcome to bring your own design to Nilson.

Which headboards can be fitted with lighting?

All headboards can be fitted with lighting and switches. The headboard will need to be adjusted in some cases. For more specific information about lighting in headboards, please contact us.

What is the price of a Nilson bed?

The price of a Nilson bed depends on the dimensions, the materials used and the design. For example, a bed with natural materials is more expensive than one with modern materials. For more information, we recommend that you contact us.

How long is the warranty on a Nilson bed?

Your purchase receipt is also proof of warranty. We offer a ten-year warranty on spring and frame breakage. Three year expiring warranty on other parts, except fabric and leather.

Care and Use of bed/mattress

How long does it take to get used to my new bed/mattress?

Give yourself a few months to get used to your new sleeping comfort such as mattress, duvet and pillow.

How often should I turn my (top) mattress?

Turn mattress and top mattress quarterly. This way they are evenly loaded and materials have a chance to recover. When turning your mattress, always keep the head end in place. This is because of the shoulder zone incorporated in the mattress. In addition, ensure good ventilation in the bedroom. Natural materials in the (top) mattress flatten over time and form spots. This is a property of these materials.

How do I clean the headboard/bed upholstered in fabric or leather?

Most materials require professional cleaning. Please contact Nilson in advance for the right advice.

How do I clean a wooden headboard/bed?

Wood can be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth without detergents.

Then wipe with a dry cloth.

How do I maintain my duvet and pillow?

It is best to shake your duvet and pillow daily and air them out regularly.

After sleeping, leave the duvet to cool for a while. For cleaning, see the label on the product.

Care of bed linen

Should I wash the bed linen before using it?

We recommend that you wash the bed linen before using it. After washing, the fabric will 'breathe' better. The shrinkage will be eliminated from the fabric and the items will fit perfectly.

How should I wash the bed linen?

For washing instructions, please refer to the label with the washing instructions. After washing, remove the items from the machine as soon as possible. When using a dryer we recommend a short program so that the items are not completely dry. Afterwards you can hang them up to dry out. This way the fabric will wrinkle less and stay beautiful longer. The high heat and movement in the dryer breaks down the cotton fibers, reducing the durability of the fabric.

Use a quality detergent, without optical bleach and definitely without chlorine. We recommend using liquid detergent to avoid stains. If the water is calcareous, we recommend the use of an anti-scaling agent, especially for dark colours. Use of a fabric softener is not recommended.

How do I treat stains in the bed linen?

The most important thing in case of stains is to remove them as soon as possible. The longer the stain sits in the fabric, the harder it is to remove. The stains should be removed with cold water. Do not wash the items until the stain has been removed, especially for blood stains. If you wash and/or iron a stained article with warm water, the stain will be fixed and can no longer be removed.

Ironing

We recommend ironing bed linen (slightly) damp, especially fabrics made of 100% linen. For a perfect result, after making the bed, dampen the linen with a spray (with clean water). When the fabric dries, you have perfectly smooth bed linen.
